JOHN MURPHY PREFERS WHITE WINE TO BLACK PEPPER, intervention within the Natural History Museum that includes ceramics with textile as well as personal objects and images, 2014, Botanical Garden “ Dimitire Brândză”, Bucharest , curator: Anca Mihuleț

The work was a temporary intervention into the Memorial Room of the Botanical Museum of the Botanical Garden “Dimitrie Brandza” from Bucharest.

It combined biographical personal objects with ceramics casts of the interior side of an old oven tile. The ceramics casts had printed visual fragments from old photos as well as attached crochet pieces that re-create small connected images from cotton, silk and silver wire. The artistic references were Sophie Calle as well as Mark Dion. The main idea to explore was change of self as well as multiple and sometimes quirky relationships that create or reshape our identity.he

The work was part of NAG 2014.
